This project is a direct reaction to the album “Victoria” by Birds of Bellwoods, my thoughts and feelings put down into ten paintings. For each individual work, while painting I listened to that song on repeat, exploring the way it made me feel and think through experimental techniques, such as blowing paint filled bubbles, or using a squeegee to create a textural background. While some elements of each painting are inspired by the lyrics of the songs, most of the elements are purely abstracted ideas and symbols, drawing from my own personal experiences and relations to the song.
